    Hey mate. You see to be offside, you have to be behind the second last player of the opposing team, which they were, however if the ball is behind that player, the ball becomes the new offside line. Therefore, a backwards pass cannot cause an offside, and neither can a player that is behind the ball when it is passed.

    The 2nd sydney player is about a metre or so behind the ball when it is passed sideways. When the ball is passed, he sprints faster and catches it, so he isn’t offside.

    @marzell250 I get it. Its great your A League gets players like Dwight York and Robbie Fowler even if it is a retirement village for them. Well York showed he wasnt ready to retire by coming back for Sunderland.
    Good luck to you guys. We got plenty of players getting close to retiring now we can send down under.
    All I was saying was is Becks is a worldwide name. So naturally people wanna see him.

    LA Galaxy are shit they only buy the 40 year old left overs from the good players,

    Sydney buy famous played while they are still at their prime

    @Ever4England

    Sydney FC had Dwight Yorke (10th best player in premier league history) , which had a MUCH bigger impact on the Premier League then Bekham

    and Perth Glory have Robbie follower (4th best player in premier league history), liverpool and man city legend you should know him

    BOTH OF THEM had a 50x more impact then bekham, despite beckhems big impact haha

    and sydney also have nicky carle and brosque..

    Why is Sydney’s 4th goal not offside? I don’t get it. Could someone please answer?

    shows the power of a marquee player. im guessing 80% of the 70 odd thousand who turned up came to see beckham. i remember this and watching my beloved sydney turn on the razzle dazzle and provide brilliant entertainment for everyone watching. good on you both teams great effort

    2010 LA GALAXY WOULD COMPLETLEY DESTROY THIS FOOTBALL CLUB SYDNEY FC. WITHOUT A DOUBT. 6-3 FINAL SCORE WOULD BE>

    @infinteuniverse what are you talking about. Sydney FC were doing pretty crap as well. Newcastle and Central Coast were the best teams in this season mate.

  10. infinteuniverse

    @DeadmansInkXXX, hehehe you think the A-League is better than the MLS.. hahaha this was during Galaxy’s worst season, they should have sent a better team, Columbus Crew would have beat Sydney FC, but then again, the Crew don’t have Beckham.
