SILVA EYES CHELSEA DEAL

 

Chelsea have been given the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva on a free transfer. The Brazilian international will be out of contract at the end of this season. The players representative has since been working hard to find the next suitable destination for their client.


Silva, 36, has already stated that Sunday’s final with Bayern Munich will be his final appearance for the capital-based club, but he is yet to make any formal decision about his next move.

Rumours have been fired about his next destination. He has been linked with PL move with Chelsea and Man City keen. A move to the Middle East with Al Sadd has also been mentioned. The former AC Milan player has also been tipped to move to the MLS. Newly formed MLS franchise Inter Miami co owned by David Beckham were also rumored to have an interest in the former Selecao captain.

But the latest report from France has revealed that it is Chelsea that his representatives have offered his service to.

According to The Telegraph, the player has made it clear that he wants to fulfil a dream of playing in the Epl before he retires. He would be prepared to take a huge pay cut from his near £300,000-a-week salary in order to get his dream move. At 36, Silva is in the twilight of his career and it is unknown whether Chelsea will make the commitment.

Silva has enjoyed a remarkable career since bursting into the scene with AC Milan. He left Milan after making 94 league appearances for Rossoneri. He joined PSG in a big money move in 2012. Silva has enjoyed a trophy laden stint with the capital-based club. He is set to lead them to European glory, as the club prepare to participate in their first UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
