I only wish other England players could play with half of the pride this guy had when he played for England

    Well done David

Lifetime achievement you know who deserves it more and Beckham would admit it, Ryan Giggs. 20 years and counting with United. Beckham today wouldn’t last 10 games in the BPL, Giggs is still going strong sort like the Cal Ripkin Jr (baseball player) of football. I mean once Beckham left United he never had the same success. Ryan Giggs he has more awards and more trophies than any other player in football history. Giggs is the perfect person for this award and Beckham knows it.

The award is ‘lifetime achievement award’….what did he achieved? before this I like him as a person though I hate him as a footballer, but after the Redknapp-Get -Me- to Spurs Saga..after taking ‘vow’ I’m not-gonna-play other than Utd…I realize this person is just plain ugly..inside and outside

We really should be very careful when creating sporting heroes. What a huge lie this allegedly is. I remember how Tiger Woods was seen as a sporting hero and look what happened to him. They said that Lehmans Bank was too big to be allowed to fail but fail it did so it is not beyond the realms of possibility that brand Beckham may fail given enough adverse trading conditions. I do not dislike him, I have never met him, but I dislike being manipulated and this award ceremony was vomit inducing.

i feel like it looks like no-one really wanted to clap for that long.
Not saying he didn’t deserve it, just observing the audience’s faces.

@Thackers78 it was a gracious speech. People are always looking to do DB down from their armchairs and with anonymity, maybe he’s an easy target, but he’s a decent guy and he does a hell of a lot for the game. Give him a break.

You must be an especially shallow person to find this video “emotional”

Nothing personal against David Beckham either, he’s a good role model, but this is jus embarrassing & an insult to the truly deserving recipients of this award such as Sir Bobby Charlton & Sir Bobby Robson.

Lets just say David Beckham is amazing, as is Victoria and the beckham unit. They’ve been married for 11 years now…. longer than most celebrity couples and they’re still so strong together.

well in that case they’re servants … I have never heard of as master heaping so much praise on mere servants, it’s crazy

I’m of the opinion that this hero worshipping of British troops is getting a bit Americanised and pathetic, They do a job, as do I, as do nurses, as do doctors, firemen, teachers, road sweepers and milkmen

they’e no more important to us than bus drivers, and probably make less impact in MY life than my bus driver – certainly cost me more money!!
